Meet The Team | Emma Kernohan, Digital Media & Marketing Manager

Emma joined the team back in June 2023 and manages all things marketing and social media here at Refresh. Keep reading to learn more about Emma.

So Emma, tell us a bit about your education and career so far?

”I started off my career by studying my degree in Marketing at Ulster University. After graduating I worked as a Marketing Assistant and discovered my love for all things Digital Marketing. I then moved to Liverpool to study my master’s degree in Marketing, Communications and Branding. While studying I worked as a Social Media Executive for a hotel group. Since moving back to NI I have worked in marketing roles in a few different industries where I gained lots of experience in marketing a range of products and services to many people. Joining Refresh has given me the chance to apply all of my previous experience to help grow the company’s digital media platforms, promote the business, and enhance the online customer experience.”

Why did you decide to join Refresh?

“I loved how the job was heavily focused on digital marketing and social media, so I knew I would be able to apply my skills while also getting the chance to be creative. I also really like that there are multiple product and service offerings to promote so knew there would be lots of variety in the role.”

Tell us about a typical day in your role as Digital Media & Marketing Manager at Refresh.

“I always start my day off by checking in on all of the Refresh socials, checking on post performance, replying to comments and messages and scrolling through our timelines. Then I will work on the content plans for the coming weeks and create graphics and videos for our social channels and the website. The rest of my time is spent working on other projects that fall under the marketing remit.”

What was your first job?

“My first ever job was Sales Assistant at Primark.”

You are in control of the next staff event, what are we doing?

”Something fun like crazy golf or bowling and then maybe out for food and a few drinks.”

What is your favourite way to relax after a long day?

“Chilling out on the sofa with snacks and watching a really good series.”

You are given a free holiday – where are you off to?

“The USA! I would do a big road trip across the US and stop off in lots of different states.”

What is your go to drink on a night out?

“A Guinness or a prosecco, it depends lol.”

What is one of your pet peeves?

“Being interrupted mid sentence.”

Cats or dogs?

“Dogs.”

Favourite TV series?

“Friends.”

Favourite food?

“Pasta of any kind.”

Biggest fear?

“Anything with wings!”
