Gas Engineer

We are currently recruiting for Gas Engineers to join our growing team, working across Greater Belfast, County Antrim & County Down. Refresh NI is a one-stop-shop for a greener home. We work in private domestic houses. Refresh has long-term contracts with the top rental estate agents in NI and a rapidly growing private customer base – we do not undertake social housing contracts.

We Install and maintain gas heating systems, mainly across Greater Belfast and counties Antrim and Down. Additionally, we deliver electrical maintenance and installation work. There are also lots of exciting opportunities coming through on renewable technologies, heat pumps, hybrid heat pumps, and Solar PV.

Refresh NI is also contracted to undertake downstream engineering work for Phoenix Energy.

Due to new and extended contracts offering long term secure work, we are seeking new gas engineers to join the team, specifically to undertake boiler replacement work as well as boiler servicing. Previous experience in gas boiler installs is required.

Job Type – Full time, permanent

Essential Criteria

• CCN1, CENWAT & HRT1 qualified
• Full, clean driving license (company van provided)
• At least 1 year experience in domestic gas servicing/ maintenance
• CSR Card (not essential but desirable)

Electrician

We are currently recruiting for Electricians to join our growing team, working across Greater Belfast, County Antrim & County Down. Refresh NI is a one-stop-shop for a greener home. With exciting new opportunities in the renewable technologies, long-term secure contracts with major clients and a rapidly growing private customer base, we are seeking to recruit additional electricians to drive this forward. We do not undertake social housing contracts.

Qualified to 18th Edition, you will work on private domestic central heating installation, EV charger installation and battery storage installation as well as general electrical maintenance. Inspection and Testing qualification would be an advantage, as would an interest in SolarPV.

Job Type – Full time, permanent

• Full, clean driving license (company van provided)
• CSR Card (not essential but desirable)

Training provided on EV and Battery storage if required.

Insulation Operations Manager

Refresh NI is a one-stop-shop to a greener home for NI householders. The energy efficiency sector is growing with many thousands of NI homes requiring some form of deep retrofit to upgrade with insulation, low carbon heating and renewable energy technologies.

Refresh is now recruiting a new key role in the organisation, an Insulation Operations Manager.

Job Type – Full time, permanent

Key duties:

The Insulation Operations Manager will oversee daily operations, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. From taking an accepted customer quote to completion of the job – planning and scheduling the job efficiently, ordering materials, and overseeing the completed works to the customers satisfaction.

They will coordinate with clients, suppliers, Refresh Insulation crews and subcontractors to streamline workflow and maintain quality standards. They will manage staff to ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards. They will also handle budgeting, procurement, and inventory management, and be responsible for resolving any issues that arise during projects.

Additionally, they will help develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability, and they will prepare reports for senior management to track progress and performance as required.

Attending and contributing to industry workshops or events will also be part of this role.

With a strong focus on the retrofit sector, this is key role within Refresh where your expertise in either the retrofit or construction industry will help deliver high-quality energy efficiency insulation installations (cavity and loft) across multiple domestic properties. The role requires strong project management skills, especially the ability to handle several small projects simultaneously.

Experience / Skills:

• Proven experience managing multiple small projects simultaneously, with a track record of delivering projects on time, on budget, and to specification.
• Accurate record keeping of project progress, budgets, and compliance documentation, ensuring all relevant paperwork is maintained and submitted in a timely manner for any grants or public monies.
• Knowledge of insulation industry schemes is highly desirable, but we also welcome applicants with strong experience in the construction industry, especially with managing energy-efficient or building-related projects.
• Strong understanding of the retrofit industry, including energy efficiency measures (e.g., insulation, heating systems, renewable energy solutions) is an advantage, but not essential.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to coordinate a diverse group of professionals across multiple projects.
• Strong project management abilities, with experience in managing schedules, budgets, and resources across concurrent projects.
• Familiarity with building regulations, compliance requirements, and health and safety standards.
• Ability to manage client relationships and ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Valid UK Driving licence essential.
