Heating Surveyor

About the Role

We are growing our team and are seeking a heating surveyor to join our team. As a Heating Surveyor, you will conduct detailed surveys of domestic properties to assess heating systems and heat pump retrofit requirements.

This will be a 50/50 field-to-office-based role involving assessing client properties for natural gas, hybrid gas and air source heat pump installations. The successful candidate will survey predominantly private, and occasionally housing association, properties for the replacement of full heating systems (gas & heat pump).

The ideal candidate will have previous experience with heating and/or retrofit surveying. You must be confident in quality control post-inspection of jobs. We are ideally looking for candidates with several years’ experience installing heating systems as a heating engineer or recent mechanical engineering graduates (HND or degree) who are ready to step into a surveyor role with a trusted, established company. 

Job Type – Full-time, permanent, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Work location – Based from our Belfast BT4 office, 50/50 office and site-based position.

Key duties:

• Carry out detailed on-site technical surveys, including measurements and calculations for natural gas, hybrid, and air source heat pump installations.

• Complete post-installation audits to ensure all works meet compliance, quality, and specification standards

• Assess on-site health and safety, identifying risks and ensuring adherence to industry and company requirements

• Liaise with customers, installation teams, and internal departments to support smooth project delivery

• Strong IT skills are required for the use of manufacturer heat calculation software and design floor plans from templates

• Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining proposed works, installation processes, and customer service standards

Experience / Skills:

• Previous experience in the heating sector with a good understanding of domestic gas heating systems, hybrid systems, and air source heat pump technologies

• Mechanical background or relevant qualifications; ideal for heating engineers looking to transition off the tools or recent mechanical engineering graduates

• Gas, ASHP, and/or oil qualifications are desirable but not essential

• Full driving licence is essential
