Meet The Team | Office Manager, Ashlee

Ashlee joined Refresh back in April 2021 as Office Manager and spends her time leading and organising the Admin Team here at the office. When she isn’t at work, Ashlee enjoys a weekend spent in Newcastle with a long walk along the beach or Tullymore followed by a nice lunch or dinner and a few drinks. Keep reading to learn more about Ashlee…

So Ashlee, tell us about your role at Refresh and how you got here.

“I have worked in an office based role for the last 30 years. Before I was promoted to office manager, I worked in accounts for 5 years. Now my role involves organizing my team and prioritizing and delegating work load across the admin staff.”

What do you love most about your job at Refresh?

“I am passionate about the work we do at Refresh and the focus on energy efficiency and carbon footprint. I love that my role involves the accounts side of things as well as admin. We have a great team spirit in the office, It feels more like an extended family.”

How long have you been employed at Refresh?

“I have been at refresh since April 2021, so just over 18 months.”

Who would you like to swap places with for the day in Refresh?

“One of the install team members as I would like to see the job from start to finish.”

Who makes the best cup of tea/coffee in the office?

”Jack lol.”

If you could add one thing to the office what would it be?

“Pool table.”

Describe yourself in three words.

“Friendly, Reliable and Hard Working.”

What advice would you give to your younger self?

“To live in the moment.”

What is your ideal weekend off work?

“A weekend at Newcastle with a walk along the beach or Tullymore, then have a nice lunch or dinner with a few drinks.”

Tell us a fun fact that not many people know about you.

“I can talk like Donald Duck.”

If you could travel to one place where would it be?

“Maldives.”

What are you most proud of?

“My two children, Brandon and Nikita.”

If you could meet someone living or dead who would it be?

“David Attenborough, I think he would tell some class stories.”

What three items would you take with you to a dessert island?

“Apart from my family, fishing rod, tent and a pot for cooking.”

If you weren’t Office Manager, what would you be and why?

“I coached football a few years ago and I really enjoyed it. So I think if I didn’t enjoy admin as much, I would have gotten into teaching as I would love to watch their confidence grow.”

How do you start your day?

“I start my day by getting into work for 8:15, so I can be orgnaised for when my team start at 9, then I put the kettle on ready for the coffee and tea run and then I go round my team and prioritise what needs to be done, then I start my own work.”

What is your ideal weekend off work?

“A long walk somewhere lovely like Murlough or Tollymore, reading a good book in front of the fire, gin, dinner and music.”

“Snakes.”

“Seafood/ fish.”

”People smacking their food and slurping.”

What dish are you best known for cooking?

“Prawn curry, rice and chips.”

Go to drink on a night out?

“At home, it is prosecco and Pure Orange. When I am out, I love a Gin and Tonic.”
