As we begin 2025, we are going to stick to tradition and take a look back at 2024 to recap and reflect on another incredible year here at Refresh NI.

With new products, new services, new faces and new records to celebrate, 2024 was a busy year.

Below, we have shared a few numbers and highlights of the year, recapping how far we have come.

In 2024, we completed an amazing 18,281 jobs for our customers across Northern Ireland.

Our services in 2024 included Boiler Servicing and Repair, Boiler Replacement, Boiler Conversions, Gas Appliance Servicing, Electrical Testing Services and Fire Safety Pack installations. We also offered installations of Electric Vehicle Home Chargers, Loft and Cavity Wall insulation measures, Air Source and Hybrid Heat Pumps, Solar Battery and PV, and newly designed Kitchen and Bathrooms.

In 2024 , we launched our range of Solar PV and Battery products and services, proceeding with 6 solar installations by the end of the year.

Having introduced heat pumps and to our range of green home heating solutions 2023, we progressed in 2024, becoming one of the leading retrofitters of Air Source and Hybrid Heat Pumps in Northern Ireland and facilitated the NISEP Efficiency Plus Heat Pump scheme. We installed a total of 15 heat pumps in 2024, a 650% increase from 2023.

2024 was a record year for many of our long-standing services such as Boiler Servicing, Boiler Replacements and more. We also launched new online booking forms and surveys to streamline the booking process for our customers. Check out some of our statistics below!

Last year, our engineers serviced an amazing 3,637 boilers across Northern Ireland, our highest number of boiler services in a year to-date!

Our engineers work hard year-round to bring Northern Ireland one step closer to a net zero future by installing many new Grade A Natural Gas boilers. In 2024, we installed 401 new boilers!

2024 was our busiest year yet for EV charger installs! Our NICEIC-approved electricians Installed 190 high-quality home EV charge points in 2024, helping to make NI homes greener and making our customers lives easier by providing them with the facilities to have continuous access to a safe and reliable charge point.

Installing insulation is a brilliant way to improve the Energy Performance Rating (EPC) of your home and can reduce heat loss, reduce the cost of energy bills, improve comfort, and reduce carbon footprint. In 2024, we installed 14,849m2 of Cavity Wall Insulation and 12,825m2 of Loft Insulation to improve the warmth of homes across Northern Ireland.

Refresh NI’s one-stop-shop approach includes Home Renovations. Our electricians, joiners and plumbers delivered high quality workmanship and executed creative designs for 162 kitchen installations and 239 bathroom installations in 2024.

We are delighted to have recruited 18 new members of staff this year. Our admin team has expanded, as well as our ever-growing electrical department and number of Gas Engineers which is expanding rapidly to help meet increasing demand.

A few of our biggest accomplishments of 2024

• Through our work on the Phoenix Energy Plus NISEP Scheme, we provided comprehensive energy-saving solutions for homeowners across Northern Ireland. As a result, we saved an amazing 568 tonnes of carbon emissions in 2024.

• Our work paid off as we earned 61 new five-star reviews across Google and Trustpilot in 2024. We love feedback and interacting with our customers at Refresh NI and this positive feedback will motivate our team even more going forward to 2025.
• At Refresh we are committed to reducing both our customers’ and our own carbon footprint. While we moved all of our company car fleet to full electric some time ago, in 2024, we introduced our first electric van to the fleet. We see this development as another important milestone on our journey to Net Zero.
• Finally, we ran 4 charitable campaigns for charities in Northern Ireland in 2024, including Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, Reach Mentoring, Belfast Homeless Services and the Cancer Fund For Children.

Boiler servicing was our most popular service again in 2024 with 3,637 boilers serviced in the year,  a huge 37.8% increase in bookings compared to 2023.

This vital service is extremely important as boilers need to be serviced at least once a year to ensure that they are running safely and efficiently. At Refresh NI, we want to make the customer’s journey as easy as possible which was why, in April 2024, we launched an online boiler service booking request form on our website. This streamlined system allows users to submit a form below to request a boiler service. Once the form is submitted, a member of our team gets in contact to confirm a date and time that best suits the customer.

Alpha Housing

Through H&A we continued our work with Alpha Housing for Maintenance and Repairs. Our engineers deliver a variety of services to enhance older adults tenants’ living conditions by implementing disabled adaptations and creating warm, comfortable living environments. In 2024, we made 35 disabled bathroom adaptations.

Power NI 

Refresh NI is the chosen installer of the Power NI branded EO Mini Pro 3 charging unit, as well as the OHME ePod, the OHME Home Pro, and Zappi EV charging units. Through this partnership, we provide safer, greener, cleaner and more convenient electric vehicle charging solutions.

Phoenix Energy 

We are still the managing agent on the Phoenix Efficiency Plus NISEP Scheme, facilitating Boiler Conversion, Loft and Cavity Wall insulation installations to provide homeowners in NI a full home solution service to improve their home heating and energy efficiency.

Domestic and General 

Our engineers provide a range of maintenance and repair services on behalf of Domestic and General.

Through our work on the Phoenix Efficiency Plus NISEP Scheme, we saved an amazing 568 tonnes of carbon emissions from being released, which is the equivalent of taking 284 petrol cars off the road each year!

In 2024, our saff recieved 3 new accreditations including the MCS accreditation for the design and installation of Heat Pump Systems. We are also currently working getting another 2 accreditations.

2024 Highlights

1.  In 2024 we successfully launched our Solar PV and Battery products and services, Installing solar panels and battery technology across Northern Ireland.
2. Completing our first NISEP Efficiency Plus Fully Funded Air Source Heat Pump Scheme with for Phoenix Energy was a great success. We also fulfilled the 2024/25 Efficiency Plus Insulation Cashback scheme, the Efficiency Plus Insulation Fully Funded Scheme, the Efficiency Plus 50% funded Scheme and the Efficiency Plus Fully Funded Scheme for Phoenix Natural Gas.
3. In 2024, we were nominated for 2 Eastside awards in the categories of Business Growth and Environmental Project of the Year! We look forward to attending the awards ceremony at the end of January.
4. In October Refresh NI presented the results of our Hybrid Heat Pump Trial 2.0 in collaboration with Phoenix Energy at the Northern Ireland Renewable Gas Conference. Many attendees found the Hybrid Heat Pump Trial very interesting and the presentation was a success.
5. We managed to raise £581.53 for Air Ambulance NI at our annual team day, where our staff competed in a dragon boat race at Bryson Lagan Sports.
