Explore Renewable Alternatives (Finance available)

Household heating costs in Northern Ireland can depend highly on fossil fuel prices, so it may be beneficial to consider if renewable technologies would work for your home if you live in a non-gas grid area. Refresh NI offers finance on the renewable technologies and products listed below to ensure that low-carbon living is an option for everyone.

Heat Pumps

For homeowners in non-gas grid areas looking at ways to improve their heating system in the long term, an air source heat pump could be worth considering. Air source heat pumps take heat from the outside air and use electricity to convert it into heating and hot water for your home, even when outdoor temperatures are low.

Heat pumps can also be significantly more efficient than traditional heating systems. This means they produce more heat per unit of energy, helping to reduce energy consumption, potentially lowering your energy bills over time. Find out more about heat pumps by clicking the button below.

Solar panels & battery storage

Solar panels use energy from the sun to generate renewable electricity for your home or business, helping to reduce the amount of power you need to take from the grid. Each panel contains multiple solar cells that generate electricity when exposed to sunlight. By combining Solar PV and battery storage, you can make better use of the energy you generate by storing excess electricity for later. This can help you use more of your own renewable energy, reduce your reliance on the grid, and provide greater protection against rising energy costs.
