What Our Customers Say
Recently had an air source heat pump installed by Refresh NI, and it was the best managed house project I’ve ever been part of. Josh at Refresh is very approachable, knowledgeable and open to every aspect of planning, scheduling and carrying out the pretty hectic works! Central heating system upgrades are very disruptive, but the contractors Refresh used left my house cleaner than when they had started! Very swift and effective as well. Great firm, great people, great choice of contractors. Quality of works has been excellent. No question too small to ask and answer.
Heat Pump FAQ’s
Is it worth getting a heat pump?
Heat pumps are an energy-efficient and future-proof home heating solution. Air-source heat pumps are highly efficient, running purely on electricity, while hybrid systems run on electricity and gas. Both consume less fossil fuels than traditional heating systems. Hybrid heat pumps also have the potential to become greener overtime as alternative fuel sources are introduced to the gas network.
Is a heat pump better than central heating?
Most gas boilers operate at around 90% efficiency, where heat pumps run at around 300-400% efficiency, therefore making them a much more efficient source of home heating.
Are heat pumps expensive to run?
Heat pumps are a highly efficient alternative to a typical boiler, using 3-4 times less energy to heat your home. This not only reduces your utility bills, but also helps to minimise your carbon footprint. Hybrid heat pump systems can protect you from fluctuating energy costs as they always opt for the cheapest source of fuel available at any givien time.
Can a heat pump be fitted to an existing heating system?
A hybrid heat pump can be fitted to an existing combination boiler, with no need to replace pipework or fit a hot water cylinder. An air-source heat pump can be fitted to existing radiators however requires replacement pipework and the fitting of a hot water tank.
