Loft Insulation
Loft insulation is most effective when installed alongside wall insulation, as it helps reduce heat loss through your roof.
Loft wall insulation involves filling the gaps between roof space joists with wool fibre to prevent heat from escaping. Learn more about loft insulation below.
Wall Insulation Considerations
Solid Walls vs. Cavity Walls
In general, houses built from the 1990’s onwards have wall insulation to help keep the heat in. However, if your house is older than that, it may not have any wall insulation at all.
Pre-1920’s houses are more likely to have solid walls. Solid walls have no cavity and are usually made of brick or stone.
