2022 Year In Review

With 2022 coming to a close, we wanted to wrap up our year and take this opportunity to highlight our achievements and thank all of our customers, staff, and partners who helped make our year one to remember.

Refresh NI opened in March 2021, meaning 2022 was our first full year of trading. We are very proud of what we have achieved in 2022 and are looking ahead to 2023.

Below, we have shared a few highlights of the year, recapping how far we have come.

Our work in numbers - 12,41 jobs completed.

In 2022, we completed an amazing 12,941 jobs for our customers across Northern Ireland.

Refresh NI offers a one-stop-shop business approach, providing our customers with a range of energy-efficient services with electricians, plumbers, joiners, and gas engineers on our team to complete a range of services.

Services include Boiler Replacement, Boiler Conversion, Boiler Servicing and Repair, Gas Appliance Servicing, and Electrical Testing Services. We also install Electric Vehicle Home Chargers, install Loft and Cavity Wall insulation measures, and design new Kitchen and Bathroom installations.

Our work in numbers, 380 new boilers installed.

Our engineers work hard year-round to bring Northern Ireland one step closer to a net zero future by installing many new Grade A Natural Gas boilers. In 2022, we installed 380 new boilers!

Our work in numbers, in 2022 we installed 45 Electric Vehicle Chargers.

Moreover, our NICEIC-approved electricians install a range of high-quality home electric vehicle charging units. Home charge-points help to make NI homes greener one install at a time. Furthermore, providing customers with the facilities to have continuous access to a safe and reliable charge point. Since launching our EV home charging service in 2022, we have installed 45 units!

Insulation helps to keep heat where it should be, inside your home. Loft and Cavity Wall insulation measures act as a barrier to trap heat within your property. Loft and Cavity Wall Insulation is a long-term solution, keeping your home warmer for longer and reducing the need for your home heating to be on for long periods of time. 

New employees, we welcomed 10 new staff members, and we now have a team of 24.

We are delighted to have recruited 10 new members of staff this year. Our admin team has expanded, as well as our ever-growing electrical department which is expanding rapidly to help meet increasing demand. Moreover, we have onboarded additional plumbers to meet the demand for our new contracts with Alpha Housing and Domestic and General. 

Our biggest accomplishments - 192 tonnes of carbon saved, 76 five star reviews, 3 members of staff achieve their gas qualification and we work successfully with 10 estate agents across NI.

A few accomplishments of 2022 

  • Our work on the Phoenix Energy Plus NISEP Scheme, allowing us to implement energy-saving measures by providing a full home solution for NI homeowners, as a result,  in 2022 we saved an amazing 192 tonnes of carbon emissions!
  • Moreover, we now have a total of 76 five-star reviews between both Google and Trustpilot. This is a huge accomplishment for us, as positive feedback motivates the whole team and assures us we are doing the job right. 
  • Furthermore, we have supported three members of staff to achieve their Gas qualifications this year, as well as providing training opportunities throughout 2022 for our engineers, allowing our staff to develop within their roles and gain as much experience as possible. 
  • Finally, we are proud of the relationships we have developed in 2022, we now work successfully with 10 estate agents across Northern Ireland, providing a range of high-quality services for their clients.
Our most popular service - boiler servicing with 1,675 jobs completed in 2022, with a 124% increase in bookings compared to 2021.

Boiler servicing was our most popular service of 2022 with 1,675 boilers serviced in 2022, which was a 124% increase in bookings compared to 2021. 

It is advised your boiler should be serviced once a year to maintain the manufacturer’s warranty and to ensure it is operating safely and efficiently.

Brand Partnerships - Alpha Housing, Power NI, Phoenix Natural Gas and Domestic and General.

In 2022, we obtained partnerships with four companies to provide a range of services.

Alpha Housing

Maintenance and Repair contract – Our engineers provide a range of services to improve their tenant’s living conditions and to set new standards within older adults’ housing, by providing disabled adaptations and ensuring their living environment is warm and comfortable.

Power NI 

Refresh NI is the chosen installer of the Power NI branded EO Mini Pro 2 charging unit, providing greener, safer and cleaner electric vehicle charging solutions. 

Phoenix Natural Gas 

We are the managing agent on the Phoenix Efficiency Plus NISEP Scheme, providing NI homeowners a full home solution service to improve their home heating and energy efficiency through Boiler Conversion, Loft and Cavity Wall insulation. 

Domestic and General 

Finally, our engineers provide a range of maintenance and repair services on behalf of Domestic and General.

Carbon Emissions Saved - 192 tonnes, this is the equivalent of taking 96 petrol cars off the road each year.

Through our work on the Phoenix Efficiency Plus NISEP Scheme, we saved an amazing 192 tonnes of carbon emissions from being released, which is the equivalent of taking 96 petrol cars off the road each year!

Accreditations received - 3 new accreditations and 5 total accreditations.

2022 was the year of accreditations with 3 new accreditations obtained – Including Office for Zero Emission Vehicles, NICEIC and FCA approved, bringing us to a total of 5 amazing accreditations!

Top 5 highlights of the year

2022 Highlights

  1. Completing our first NISEP Scheme for Phoenix Natural Gas 2021/22 was a huge success. We are now working on the current 2022/23 scheme.
  2. Staff away day to Jungle NI, it was great to have all of the staff together at the same place, at the same time and to have a bit of fun completing team-building exercises.
  3. We were delighted to win the Eastside Business Award for New Business Start-Up, moreover, we have been nominated for our second award. Ryan Jamison, one of our apprentices has been announced as a finalist for Young Person of the year, we look forward to attending the awards ceremony at the end of January.
  4. We successfully launched our home electric vehicle home charge point service, as well as obtaining a partnership with Power NI as the chosen installer of the EO Mini Pro 2.
  5. Finally, we provided consultancy services on behalf of Respond. Delivering programmes for fire, asbestos, and legionella risk assessment in the Republic of Ireland.

It was great to be able to have the opportunity to visit our satisfied customers in 2022 and listen to their feedback on how our services have improved their living conditions. 

We have also had the opportunity to work on exciting projects, such as completing electrical testing services on HMS Caroline and much more!
