Meet The Team Monday, Andrew
This week in our meet the team series we are introducing one of our gas engineers, Andrew Hull.
Andrew joined team Refresh NI six months ago, another great addition to our team with his many qualifications and skills.
Starting off with a bit of background, why did you decide to become a gas engineer?
”I set my sights on a role within this industry after completing a year of study with the CS Lewis Institute.
Among the excellent and thought-provoking reading list, there was a book I would highly recommend, it is called ‘Finding your sweet spot.’
The combination of applying the technical knowhow of gas theory to the varied reality of being a tradesman attracted me to the role.”
What has been a highlight of yours since joining Refresh?
”Gaining a knowledge base which you cannot derive from a book.”
Speaking of highlights, what is the highlight of your week?
”Thursdays, as you have all the promise of the weekend without the rushing about of trying to get everything done.”
Tell us a fun fact about yourself
”I got interested in canoeing over lockdown, I go for a paddle as often as I can – Shawsbridge and Strangford are my favorites.”
What makes you passionate about your work?
”Two things, I love building and repairing all things mechanical, and I am working with people who are also passionate about their work.”
What is something you would like to accomplish in the next year?
”OFTEC, LPG and heat pump qualifications and experience.”
If you could be in one movie, what would it be?
”Goodfellas, all that Italian food!”
Who would you like to swap places with on the team?
”I would swap with the anyone on the scheduling (Administrative) team, because we depend so much on eachother and I think the more we understand eachothers job’s the better.”
And finally, you are organising the next staff event, what are you planning for the team?
”Start off with boating and a barbeque, followed by a short pep talk from our leaders, then to finish off everyone goes off to a barn dance.”
